Pastor, Colby Friday
My name is Colby Friday, and I am the pastor at Willow City Church. I grew up in West Texas and moved around during most of my childhood. I knew who God was but never thought I had a reason to be in a relationship with Him until 2010, when my life literally started falling apart. I was introduced to Jesus through a Christian gathering called a Walk to Emmaus, and my life has never been the same. It was at that time that I felt God placed a calling on my life to be in ministry. We moved from South Texas back to West Texas and surrounded ourselves with amazing like-minded people. Today, my wife Angela and I are a part of the Willow City Church family.
We opened the church in 2021 and have watched God work ever since. We have three amazing gristle-headed children who are all followers of God, and we never wake up not knowing God is with us. Willow City Church has not only been a blessing to me, but our church family is now our entire family. We love it so much and are so thankful for the opportunity. My prayer is that this little rural church can be used to reach the masses, not just in our community, but everywhere. We are preaching God’s word in a way that most haven’t heard, and this is what keeps people coming. I was taught that if you love Jesus, then love Him with boldness and passion, and let people see this in the way you live. That’s what you will get when you come see us. If I had one thing to say to people who have never been to WCC, I’d say this: Come as you are. Don’t worry about wearing your best clothes or removing the smell from the party the night before. Jesus wants you as you are, and He is waiting.
